Order status and tracking, in every Picsha admin

"Is my order ready?" is the phone call every photo counter knows. Starting today, your Picsha storefronts answer it for you.

Every paid order in Picsha Prints, Picsha Retouch, Picsha Posters, Picsha Cards, and Picsha Books now has a status:

  • Received. Set when the order is paid.
  • In production. You're making it.
  • Ready for pickup. It's waiting at your counter.
  • Shipped. It's on its way, with a carrier and tracking number.
  • Picked up or Delivered. The order is done.

One dropdown on the Orders card

In the order's Status column, open Change status…, pick the new status, and click Update. The same control is on the printable order summary. Every status is offered on every order, so a pickup order that ends up in the mail can still be marked Shipped.

For Ready for pickup and Shipped, Email the customer is already ticked. The email comes from your store, under your brand, links to the customer's order page, and replies go to you. Untick the box to change a status quietly. A customer is only ever emailed once for each of those steps.

Shipping with tracking

Choose Shipped and paste the tracking number from your shipping label. Picsha recognizes USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL numbers by themselves, and the customer's email and order page link straight to the carrier's tracking page. For any other carrier, choose Other and enter its name and a tracking link. For orders paid through Stripe, the carrier and tracking number are added to the payment in your Stripe dashboard too.

What your customer sees

Their order page shows a timeline: Received, Being made, then Ready for pickup or Shipped, then Picked up or Delivered, each with its date. No account, no app; it's the same order link they got when they paid.

Lab orders move on their own

  • Orders sent to Photogize Lab move to In production once your Lab has them. You mark them ready or shipped when they come off your Lab.
  • Books on Picsha's lab printing move to In production when the lab starts, and a book the lab ships to your customer is marked Shipped with the lab's tracking number, email and all, without you touching it.

The status, shipped date, carrier, and tracking number are in the orders CSV export as well (Prints, Retouch, Posters, and Books; Cards does not have a CSV export yet). A Retouch or Posters order that is only a digital download has no status; the download is the delivery.

It's live now in every Picsha admin, with nothing to switch on. The details are in the help center: Order status and tracking.
